It's that time of year again! As we turn the page on the calendar, many of us are making ambitious New Year's resolutions for the upcoming year. But if you want to make sure your resolutions actually stick, it's important to have a plan in place for how you'll achieve them. By mid-January, only 56% of those who committed to a new resolution habit are still sticking with it. At Balanced Foods, we want to see you be in the winning percentage.

So, in this post, we'll be discussing five key tips that will help you stay on track and successfully complete your goals. These include setting realistic goals, creating achievable milestones, having a support system around you, holding yourself accountable and staying motivated. By following these tips you’ll be much more likely to achieve all your New Year’s resolutions in 2021!

    Set Realistic Goals

Setting realistic goals is an important part of achieving success in the New Year. It's easy to get carried away with ambitious resolutions, but it's important to remember that you won't be able to accomplish everything overnight.

Instead, set achievable and measurable goals that are within your reach and will help you build on your successes over time. Remember to break down big projects into smaller tasks so you can celebrate each milestone along the way! Don’t forget to reward yourself for reaching each goal - this will keep you motivated and remind you why it’s worth putting in effort towards your resolutions. Finally, don’t be too hard on yourself if things don’t go as planned - take a step back and adjust your plan accordingly so that next year is even better!

Our in-house Registered Dietician, Trina, can help you do that with a FREE Nutritional Consult HERE!

    Set Achievable Milestones

Setting achievable & realistic milestones is a great way to stay on track with your New Year's resolutions.

When setting goals, it’s important to break them down into smaller doable benchmarks that can help you measure and track your progress.

Feeling & seeing progress is so important as it will also give you a sense of accomplishment as you reach each milestone along the way and remind you that YOU CAN DO IT!

It’s also beneficial to set both short-term and long-term goals so that you have something concrete to work towards throughout the year.

Having smaller successes in between big ones helps keep motivation high and makes it easier to focus on reaching your end goal. Finally, don’t forget to reward yourself for reaching each milestone - this could be anything from buying yourself something special or taking some time off for self-care. This recognition of accomplishing every single win along the way is how you create true Self-Confidence, by following through on the promises you make to yourself on a daily basis.

Doing these things will not only help motivate you but remind you why achieving those goals is worth all the hard work!

    Create A Support System

Having a support system is key to staying on track with your New Year’s resolutions. It can be difficult to stay motivated if you’re going it alone, so it’s important to find people who will keep you accountable and cheer you on when things get tough.

Whether that means talking with friends or family members about your goals or joining an online community like our UH-MA-ZING Balanced30 community, for accountability and encouragement; having a network of individuals who understand and believe in what you’re trying to accomplish can make all the difference.

Additionally, try setting up regular check-ins where you can discuss progress and celebrate successes together - this will help ensure that everyone remains committed throughout the year!

Each week Trina, our in-house Registered Dietician, aka “Your Personal Success Coach” checks in with you to track your wins and keep your momentum going full steam!

    Be Accountable

It’s one thing to set ambitious New Year’s resolutions, but it can be another to actually stick with them. That’s why it is so important to hold yourself accountable throughout the year if you want any chance you’re part of the winning percentage of people who not only stuck with their new year’s resolution, but absolutely crushed it.

This means taking ownership of both successes and failures, as well as not making excuses for missed opportunities or lack of progress.

That’s exactly what our entire team, Trina and our amazing Balanced30 community is for!

Make sure that you are regularly checking in on your progress and adjusting accordingly when necessary - this will help keep you motivated and on track!

Additionally, make sure that you have a clear plan for how you will achieve each goal so that there is no room for procrastination or distractions. Finally, don’t forget to reward yourself when milestones are reached - this could be anything from a new outfit or an extra hour of sleep; whatever works best for motivating YOU!

Staying motivated is essential when trying to accomplish New Year's resolutions. It can often be difficult to stay focused over the course of an entire year, which is why having strategies in place ahead of time can really help keep motivation high even during times where things feel stagnant.

Start by setting realistic goals (Trina can help you with that!) with achievable milestones and then find ways to break up the monotony along the way - whether it's treating yourself after completing a task or celebrating small wins like learning something new about your chosen topic every day.

Additionally, try writing down positive affirmations each morning before starting your day - these can act as reminders about why it was worth pursuing those goals in the first place!

Finally, make sure you surround yourself with people who understand what you're doing and can encourage rather than discourage your efforts: friends and family members who believe in what you're striving towards will provide invaluable support throughout 2021!

    Stay Motivated

Staying motivated can be a real challenge, especially when it comes to achieving our New Year’s resolutions because emotions aren’t always in our favor and you don’t always “feel” like doing what you should do to meet your short and longterm goal at any given day.

It’s important to take the time to create a plan that works for you and break down your goals into manageable chunks with achievable milestones, like what Trina can do for you HERE.

Additionally, make sure you reward yourself along the way - this could be anything from taking some extra time off or buying something special just for yourself!

Celebrate Your Wins along the way! This is key!

Finally, don’t forget to have an accountability partner who will help keep you on track and encourage you throughout the year - having someone by your side makes all the difference in staying motivated.

It's also helpful to set short-term and long-term goals so that there are smaller successes in between big ones. This helps keep motivation high and makes it easier to focus on reaching your end goal. Additionally, try writing down positive affirmations each morning before starting your day - these can act as reminders about why it was worth pursuing those goals in the first place!

Finally, remember that failure is inevitable at times but should never stop us from trying again: recognize mistakes as learning opportunities rather than roadblocks! With consistent effort and determination, we can stay motivated throughout 2021 and beyond!

Completing these five steps will help you reach your goals and stay motivated to keep going., and all of us at Balanced Foods have both succeeded at resolutions and failed. That’s why we created the Balanced30 community and have Trina, our Registered Dietician, as part of our success team that is available for you to be part of and succeed!

Remember that all goals take time, and if you dedicate yourself then you can conquer any obstacle along the way. Having a support system in place is just as important, so make sure to find people who encourage and push your success.
